Notification for the Bangalore Graduates Constituency election to the Legislative Council was released on Oct 1st, 2011.
Bangalore graduates have an opportunity to send a Graduate citizen to the Legislative Council. Are you ready? In 2006, out of 10 lakh eligible voters, only 60,000 registered, and only 20,000 voted (just 2%). The main reason - the Election Commission's process for registration of voters is cumbersome. SmartVote will assist you in making this process less painful. We should register in large numbers, and vote for a real public servant. Any one who is a graduate from any Indian university (passed out before Nov 1st, 2008) can register as a voter and cast a vote to send a graduate to the Legislative Council.
The incumbent MLC from this constituency, Shri Ramachadra Gowda, was Medical Education minister for a while, and forced to quit over a scam in hiring of medical staff in govt hospitals last year. We know the graduate voters of Bengaluru can do better than that this time around.
Go ahead and register and elect the right person to represent the graduates of our city of Bengaluru!
